Hi Guys,
Just after a bit of advice please.
At what age do Doberman's get their Dew Claws? Do they get them at the front and back?
If they do get them, do they get caught and cause them much damage?
Just after advise if to remove them or not. Most generic websites say to do it when you have your dog neutered/spayed.
Loki is 8 weeks and 3 days old. I can't feel any coming through yet.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Puppies are born with declaws...some have front only, some have front and back....some dont have any.  Dewclaws are generally removed by a vet at the same time the tails are docked, at 3 - 5 days old.  If your pup is 8 weeks old and does not have dewclaws, then they have most likely already been removed.  Can you see a little dark spot where there is no hair on the inside of the front legs a little above the toes?

Thanks for replying. He must of had them removed there is definitely nothing there. I've emailed the breeder to confirm for definite.

Spoke to the breeder and he wasn't born with any. She advises that he won't get any now. That's one less thing to tick of the list. ;-)
