I searched the site & found where OldAdmin had posted the ratio for a listerine spray bath.  (2 parts water to 1 part Listerine)  Neither Brinks nor MiLady have had an official "bath" since November.  I've used unscented baby wipes 2 or 3 times per week instead.  However...  the temperature is warming so Thing 1 and Thing 2 have once again started to roll around in the creek!  Eeeeeewwwwwuuuuu!

I am making a BIG batch tonight for both of them - my achin' back just isn't up to a tub bath for anyone but me tonight!  Brinks won't make a fuss about being sprayed down, but MiLady is TERRIFIED of spray bottles.  She will hide even when I'm just cleaning the kitchen counters.

Can I add some lotion or conditioner into the mix so the listerine doesn't strip ALL the oils from their coats?

I don't know if you want to add it to the mixture, but maybe after its dried on their coats you can add a finishing conditioning spritz?

Sofia doesn't like the sound of the spritz bottle either, so I spray a soft cloth and wipe her down with it.

Sorry I don't know of a mixture other than the Skin-So-Soft and water..after cleansing. That works well on her.

We've had skin issues with Steve for a while.. dandruff and oily/greasy to touch... I thought it was a number of things but when I called my vet he told me a shampoo to use.  We were supposed to treat him with this special shampoo once a week until it cleared up.  I've done it twice... still a little bit of a problem...

My dog is so spoiled we even go for our jogs in the rain.  We came home from two rainy day runs and last night Eli asks me, "Wow, you did a great job bathing Steve, what did you do?"

Good old mother nature... ;)

Laith has dry skin. I bought I think it is the PetHead brand (BedHead for dogs) from PetSmart. It is a dry shampoo. Laith doesn't like squirt bottles either. So I just squirt it in my hand, rub him down and then shake him off with a towel. And then he smells like strawberry yogurt! ha-ha! So "manly". But he loves the lake and dirt, so it works well in addition to the wipes.
