It's looking more and more like Lil Mama may have Addison's.  We made another trip to the vet this morning.  After 2 wks of probiotics and prescription canned food, she still wasn't gaining weight and stools are cow patties.  She has lost another 2 pounds making a total of 10 pounds in 2 months.

Vet is doing another blood test so we can have a comparison to the one a month ago.  Then Thursday I will be taking her in for the Addison's test.  But with her liver enzymes a little off, sodium and potassium levels way off, and likely pancreas enzymes off he thinks all signs are pointing towards Addison's.  Right now he gave me a pancreas enzyme supplement that I am giving her 3x a day.  Hopefully this will help her digestion.

Mama, sodium too low and potassium too high?  I had a black lab, Rocky, before I got Tony and Tory, who had addisons.  He developed it when he was about 2, vet said he could lead a normal life, and died in my arms at age 13.  There are a couple of drugs out there, one pill, don't remember the name, we had Rock on docp, a shot once a month and pred and salt tablets.  Good luck on Thursday, keep us posted

I have a friend with a rottweiler who has addisons and she has been dealing with it for years Harleigh is now 10 and doing fairly well.....she is going to try that green algae since it won't hurt them and it could help....it really eases inflammation which helps the joints and organs .......I hope that you find all the resources you need to help you guys deal with this, its tough when the babies get diseases that will last a lifetime.....

Yay!!!! Once again Lil Mama has dodged a bullet.  Yesterday's blood test shows inprovement.  Liver enzymes are back down to normal and the sodium:potassium ratio has improved from 22 to 27.  That is the low end of the normal range, but we'll take it.  The plan is to continue with the pancreas enzyme supplement and do another blood test in a month.

Once again, thank you so much for everyone's concern.  Lil Mama and I greatly appreciate it.

Hahahahaha!!!  Yes, Tal, I could see you jumping up and down.  ;-)  You can be sure we were doing the happy dance around here, too.  Lil Mama sends Ben hugs and all the healing vibes she can muster for him to continue doing better as well.
