Why do people say Dobermans turn on their owners?

Honestly, I don’t know why people say a lot of what they say. In our experience, a Doberman owner would really have to work hard to make their dog harm them. I suppose it’s possible though, with the right amount of abuse and neglect.

One problem with certain Doberman owners is their motivation in owning a Doberman. This is also a problem with other ‘tough’ dog breed owners. Some people purchase a Doberman like they would a muscle car or a leather jacket, in hope that it will exude an image of strength.

However, this type of arrogance is usually compensating for lack of character, and all dog owners need character. You don’t need strength to raise a Doberman, just the character it takes to maintain consistent training and overall care.
