Keeping a Tidy and Healthy Doberman

The Doberman is an inherently clean and easy to maintain dog. Keeping good hygiene consists mainly of cleaning the Doberman’s areas in the home and bathing, ear cleaning, brushing teeth, and trimming the nails.

Doberman Grooming

Minimal but Essential

The Doberman was originally breed to have a relatively maintenance free coat. It’s short, barely sheds, is easy to wash, and dries quickly. Current Doberman breeding produces this same low maintenance coat but, coat wise, focuses on its beauty. Oral Care for the Doberman

Keeping those Teeth Clean and Healthy

Oral care should not be overlooked in the Doberman. Dogs tend to keep their teeth in good order by chewing on bones and their saliva is a powerful antiseptic that limits bacteria growth significantly, but there are still areas in the Doberman’s mouth that seem not to benefit from bone chewing. Also, the Doberman can be rough on his teeth so the mouth should be inspected regularly for wounded guns or damaged teeth that could be causing pain not otherwise displayed.
