I am a new owner ...she is 9 weeks old and her name is Kayla.
What are the necessary shots that she will need? I was told different opinions and not sure.
I was told that she will only need the de-worming shot at 6 months old.
I am taking her to her first vet visit in a few days and I am not sure if whatever the vet tells me it true. They only want to make money!

thank you,

Perry - most vets do actually have the best interests of the dog/cat as their main concern. If they were in it for the money, they would just charge more. Puppies get their initial immunization from their mother's milk. Once, they are past that initial mothers milk, however, this starts to wear off. Puppies should be wormed often, on a schedule the vet sets up.

Do not be surprised if your vet recommends the Parvo vaccination more frequently than some other breeds. The two breeds most susceptible are the Rottweiler and the Doberman. Remember, just like human babies, a healthy start is important to a healthy adult life.
