Dobe$: 3

Hi, my name is Dave and we have a 3 1/2 mo Dobie named Lucy. It's been about 20 years since we owned our last Dobie and I am trying to remember what the command and training method is for communicating to the dog that what they percieve is a threat is not a threat at all. Our previous Dobie, which we got at 1 yr old, would simply seem to pick up on our reaction and go from there but the puppy will need specific training and I want to be sure I am doing it right. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave H.

There isn't any one command that everyone uses I'd venture to say.  If Rocky starts to barks or growl I look to see what's got his attention.   If it's nothing I simple tell him 'enough'....and and maybe a few eh eh's added in there with it as he will usually stop barking but continue 'huffing' as I call it.  Not really a bark just a low gutteral release of breath.

it doesn't matter what word you decide to use, just that you are consitant with it and use the same word.
