Intelligence
I wasn't really sure what topic to put this in, but hopefully this is an ok place. Lol I just felt like I needed to tell people about it.
I recently read a book called "The Intelligence of Dogs" by Stanley Coren, and it was absolutely amazing. The book is where the list of intelligence by breed comes from, and ranked the Doberman 5th among all of the breeds. If anyone is interested in diving deep into how the mind of dogs works you would find this book incredibly interesting. It goes over things like whether or not dogs have consciousness, and the different types of "intelligence" dogs have. Just thought some people might find it interesting, I got the book off Amazon for $0.01, plus $3.99 shipping. So it's super cheap!
Although you probably could use some of the information in the book to help with your dog, it's not a training book. It's more of a psychology and history book about dogs.
If anyone else has any dog books they recommend you should definitely post them! I would love to read them! :)
That's good to know, I love good books, especially when they're cheap! I have seen his list ranking breed intelligence before, I think it's posted on Wikipedia(Border Collie is ranked smartest at number one, no?) but I'd love to read the whole book.
HarleyBear, if your husband is at all interested he will love the book!
SweetPea, you're right, the Border Collie is listed as number 1 and the list is posted on Wikipedia. The list was first created and published by this book! I think you will love it, especially because it's cheap! Lol
Thanks for the tip
