Camp
Well Cisco and Raven both went to camp!
When I loaded Cisco into the car Raven wanted to go for the ride. So when we pulled up and got out, the trainer asked why she wasnt coming and I said "she is an angel- she needs no training. Not my little perfect girl" She laughed and asked me to bring her into the training center to see how we all interact.
Cisco thankfully showed her his issues with me and than we talked about how he shows some food aggression with Raven and she watched them play.
She asked me if she could keep Raven there free of charge to help her key in on some of Cisco's issues. They will be there until Monday night. I am going to miss them so much- But am hopeful that this will help me figure out Cisco's mind and help me in keeping him in line!
Fingers Crossed!
Mandy May, Enjoy the Break!
Hmm,kid free until Monday......Knowing they are being well cared for, with lots of interaction, socializing, and mental stimulation.I think I'm feeling a bit jealous.Good for you,it will be Monday before you know it and hopefully you'll be a few steps in the right direction to a perfect little boy.
Thanks all- I am not going to know what to do with myself! And I know it will fly by and am hoping for a better behaved dog!
Can you hide behind a tree and watch? I'd give a nickel to see what goes on..
Best of luck with the training, and try not to worry.... Cisco will come home your same boy, only a little wiser and make life a lot easier for you.
that is fantastic that they took her free of charge, enjoy your kid free time! I know you will be missing them though, life is just not the same once you have a Doberman LOL.
Kate! I was thinkin that and lookin around as I pulled away this morning.
Des- I am dying here without them seriously. We had a wonderful evening at my parents house- pool, hot tub, burgers, and corona... somehow there was 2 things missing all night and especially now....
I am going to bed without my babies and it kinda sucks! guess hubby will have to do
How did it go Mandy?
I wish we had a similar program around here that I could trust. I loved that she took Raven as well, it makes perfect sense.
I'd love to drop Steve off just to have some stimulation and one-on-one time to refine anything, just to get him out and working within a different environment is great.
I am anxiously waiting for 5 Jes~! I will definately let you guys all know!
I love Mr Garrow our regular trainer - he is amazing but I just think that Cisco needed this to focus...
I will write later!
Oh Mandy.. How I hope they're both having a wonderful time and learning a lot.. I can only imagine how much you must miss them though.. Aww. you miss your DObergrowths!!
Katie I hope they are too- and it makes it worse because I was not allowed to call and check on em either! :( 3.5 hours and I will see them again :)
Camp went wonderful! I swear if it wasnt for the ears - I wouldnt have believed it was Cisco. Down- check! Drop it- Check! No-No- (counter surfing and such) - CHECK! Hasnt nipped my hand once- He did jump up when he saw josh and I- and then stopped himself and just leaned into us!!!! No food aggression w/ Raven. And they are still rouch housing but it just seems calmer.... She seems happier and she looks like she grew about an 1 or 2"!!!!!
So happy they are home!
WOWZA!!!! What did the trainer tell you to do to KEEP at this level?
BTW----congrats, Cisco and Raven for being such A+ students!!!
WOW... that's amazing.. I am so happy as I'm sure you are too... No more 'lock down' for the Kid LOL
please give both of the darlings a great big doberhug from Auntie Kate and a slurpy wet one from Cousin Sofe.
Wow. I'm so so so happy that it worked!! I'm with Paul, what did they say had to be done to continue? That's amazing!!
Thanks guys! Major training sessions everyday. 15 mins am 15 mins at lunch and 30mins in the evening. We have to keep on it so it will stick! They are both so pooped and sound alseep already and usually that doesnt happen here! I am so pleased!
That is awesome Mandy
thanks phil!
Wow Mandy, that's aweseome!! The follow up should be easy now that it's in his head it seems. Can you tell a difference like he doesn't even try to act on his old ways or does he check himself because he knows it's not right now? Either way, congratulations!! Enjoy your calmer Cisco!!
Amazing! Glad to hear it all went so well. Isn't life so much better when you have two well behaved ones.
Tans- Yeah he still has a little ways to go- he still tries some stuff- but the major issues are all but gone!
Cf- I love it! He is laying by me calmly this morning- letting me do what I need to do!

Wow---you're kid-free till Monday???? That could work in your favor, you know? That's great that they offered to let Raven stay there free of charge, too. Hopefully, you and the dogs will ALL enjoy a little bit of space, and the trainer will be able to see just exactly what's going on with Cisco. Monday isnt that far away, even though you might think it's like forever from now.
