Hi, we just brought Yara home Friday. She is 8 weeks old. She became glued and bonded to me in the first hours but seems scared of everyone except me and my daughter. We spend the most time with her... but she even takes a little coaxing and time to warm up to my husband, and strangers... forget about it, she will just sit by me and refuse to go near them. I don’t want to push her but also want to keep socializing her. How would you recommend we handle? Should I be worried Or is was his normal puppy behavior? She is the biggest love bug with me, loves to snuggle, play and wants to be with me always. Any help/advice appreciated. PS, I really wonder how she will fair in a public setting, we have taken her a short distance in our neighborhood a few times to get her used to leash (that is going great) but people/dogs still no go.

She's a baby and only been away from mom and sibs for a few days - everything is new to her. Some puppies are more timid than others but don't force people on her. Have your visitors sit calmly and ignore her - let her approach them when she feels comfortable. Have your visitors offer treats when she does approach.

aside from your backyard she shouldn't really walk where other dogs do until she has finished her puppy vaccine series.

And if course we do very much like pictures, lots of pictures!!

Great thank you! I can’t figure out how to add pictures to her pet profile.

Ask one of the admins. I'm also on Dobermantalk and can upload there but not sure about here.

She is adorable!  Enjoy every precious moment of puppy hood, it will be gone before you know it.  My Tiberius acted the same way the first days of being home, it is normal.  Of course you will probably be the alpha with her, and that is A-O-K.  Yes, I agree we love lots of pics of the little ones here on the site.

To attach them to the post, see the 4th box at the top, marked images, click on that.
Then you just follow the directions,  Pics need to be saved somewhere on your computer to be added, so you browse "Your Pics" and download them to your post.
