My dog is just under 5 months old.  I feed her Iams puppy food for large breed.  She does not eat table food. She has had this since we brought her home at 10 weeks of age. The oder is so bad, we have to leave the room. Can anyone else relate to this or offer some advice?

Ha Ha I can relate... ;D My dobie was really bad when she was a puppy and is a bit better now.  I have heard (but have not tried) that feeding them a teaspoon of plain oatmeal with the food should help. I have been meaning it give it go but always forget it at the store...Good Luck!

I'm going to give that a try Soleil. Since I increased jewel's food for her puppies, I've been worried about the EPA coming by.  :P

Has anyone tried the oatmeal?  My little girl can clear a room and sit and wonder why everyone left.  Sometimes she looks at us like we did it and she leaves thinking one of us were the stinky one. I'm feeding her canidae all life stage formula she loves it.

You can try changing foods. Trust me, Dobes are noted (notorious?) for this. I've had Dobes for over 25 years, and some have been far worse than others. My first male, Hans (1984-1995) was one of the worst, and my nephew gave him the nickname of FB. (The B stands for blossom, I leave the rest to your imagination). But some others were pretty bad.

Recently I have been feeding all of mine Benefil, they really go for it, and it seems to be more successful. My six year old male Red is not very bad about it. My new puppy, 11 week old Princess, has let out a few, but in the two weeks I've had her, it has not been too bad, and I am home all day now that I'm retired.

Before I switched to Benefil, I used Pedigree, it seemed no worse, but they didn't seem to enjoy it too much.

You can use Beano and or Simethicone .. Just check with your vet prior to using. Both are OTC

I have had 4 Dobies and Each one has increased their smell

I think all dobes are known for sensitive tummies, sort of like mom's all get headaches.  Although I ate junk food puppy food with different owners, for 2 years I've been getting good quality food and still had issues.  My mom even thought I had giardia for a time.  Thankfully she found out that I can't digest chicken well.  I eat Eagle Holistics lamb with an occasional sprinkle of same brand pro-biotics.  My tummy is always the first indicator that I'm stressed, but I'm a pretty regular guy now.  My rear sounds off if I get into trash, eat a stick or dirt, etc.  Even my heartworm meds gave me diarhea, but as I said before all stress shows through my tummy.
Thanks for listening,
