I'm just so proud of my little Dachshund girl :D Today, we had to run some errands and get her nails clipped. We did the clipping first, as I had to return some items at PetSmart. She hated that, but snuggled into her bed afterwards. Next we went to Target....low and behold, there was a DOBERMAN there! Not in the store, but in a car outside. He(she) was very disgruntled about being left in the car, and willfully expressed it ;) But what a gorgeous black and tan! Nicely cropped and docked, ah, he was beautiful ;) Annie didn't make a peep as we watched him...just stood there stoicly. Later, we brought her into Hobby Lobby, and she stayed by my side the whole time. Several people and kids came up to pet her, she didn't even get flustered and listened to me perfectly. I'm just a proud little Mom :) 

Now that I'm bragging, here's another tale. This New Years, we went up to our friend's house (they live in the Foothills) to celebrate with some church families. Most good friends of ours have big families with lots of small children. Everyone knows and loves Annie, calling her by name and all. So, when we get there, general happy chaos is in progress. She sniffs around, then hops up on top of the couch and yawns. The kids are all pretty respectful, but most of the time, great numbers of them overwhelmed small dogs. She took it all in stride! Later on we found her snuggling with the mothers who love her. During dinner (we do a potluck kind of thing), she is seen weaving through little legs. I'm always careful to watch her, as she is easily stepped on, but so little fazes her now. She isn't even a dog who LOVES kids or other adults, but she is mellow, and she knows I expect her to behave well.
