Bachelors!
Momma and the kids are flying to FL for a week today. So Gideon and I will be sitting around in our underwear eating cheetos if you need us.
LOL... Hickory you always crack me up!
Would love to see Gideon in underwear. And, don't get orange all over the couch! Lol
Please take a picture of 'Gideon in underwear... lol
Hugs, Bet
Now there's a vision that will burn holes in my brain!!
LOL.. J/K
Have fun you two wild and crazy guys!!
Uh oh, and momma didnt get yall a babysitter? What in the world was she thinking?!?!
oh dear I can see it now Gideon's picture on the Post Office wall and Hickory next to him wanted for leaving a cheese trail throught the house. ....... have fun and stay out of trouble the collies might tell.....
I seriously tried to put underwear on him...he wasn't having any of that. Guess he'll just eat his cheetos nekid...
LOL!!
Well it's been a whole day now without the wife, which one of you has the bellyache from too many cheetoh's??? Remember you have to drag out the vacuum before she returns and tidy up, and be sure to tell Gideon not to look guilty when she walks through the door.....hahahahahah you had better be taking pictures for us!!!!
Actually we had a real meal tonight - cubed steak with rice & gravy and succotash. I even cleaned the kitchen while Gideon chewed on his bone. Now Friday night...stand by for XBox and Mt.Dew...
hahahahahaah, can't wait for pictures
So did you boys have a great night or what??? Still having fun??? Do tell.....
Did they survive the time alone? lol
I don't know - it's been really quiet, they are either having such a good time they don't have time to post or they have been caught and can't get to the computer.......hahahahaha
Hickory's in an foggy orange cheetos coma........ut oh
Thufferin thuccotash!!!
(I don't even know what succotash is, other than some kind of vegetable - got to google that.)
hahahaha succotash is a mixture of veggies like tomatoes, okra, lima beans, and corn......typical veggies some people add other things but that's the basic foundation.
I did google it - it looks delicious! Do you cook the corn first and then cut it off the cob, or cut it off raw and sautee it with the other stuff? Recipes didn't specify. Don't mean to ask a stupid question, but I don't know.
We went from Cheetos to vegetables.....Hickory, are you paying attention?
Sorry - been off the grid for a few days. We stayed out of trouble somehow. House was a wreck when the fam came back, but that's not unusual.
Very basic succotash recipe: corn and butter beans. Good eatin! We also had pulled pork bbq and roasted potatoes for dinner one night. Gideon and Stormy the chihuahua eat good around here.
gingersmommy you can do it either way with the corn as the corn won't take long to cook either way. Usually you just throw them all in a roaster pot and boil them all day like a good homemade soup yum.....
Made chicken bog last night (a SC dish). Chicken, rice, and kielbasa all cooked up together - Goofus LOVED it!
Wow, I have never heard of Chicken Bog, but it sounds delicious! If I am ever in the SC (or on the east coast for that matter) I will make a point to try some!
What about scrapple anyone heard of scrapple. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY. This is an east coast breakfast sausage. Pig parts and corn meal is the best description. Lightly breaded and fried with a little pancake syrup drizzled on, wow, now I am starving.
Jeri
OOOoo fried pig parts... Now THERE'S a jump start for your heart.. LOL
We were at the Mercado in Ensenada where they had a HUGE hog splayed out on a butcher's block the size of Volkswagon.
All we had to do is point to the 'pig part' we wanted and the butcher would slice off a huge chunck.
Took the beast-part home and cooked it up.. num yum
Oh gosh, now I am really hungry. My greek yogurt that I am eating is looking less appetizing. I want fried pig!
.......and the vegetarian/vegan person will go screaming from the room, hahahahaha, ewww ya' all sounds really weird and icky all at the same time, the bog I remember from childhood but the others ......sorry gotta run, I'll try not to scream too loud.....hahahahahaha
Sorry Tali for grossing you out! In my defense, the hubby and I only eat meat that has been ethically and lovingly raised. No mass factory farmed meat in my house!
Sorry Tal wasn't thinking. I got food on thebrain and everything else left.
Jeri
Sorry Tal~.. Next time I'll do a sticky: "Carnivore alert"
It's ok guys I found it a bit funny in a weird way, just a bit graphic in description :)) I do have meat eating husband on occasion.
Don't know if you eat seafood Tal - some vegetarians will - but shrimp & grits is a Charleston /Savannah delicacy. We make it quite often here.
Hickory I see it in all the menus now but just can't wrap my head around the two different ingredients. And a few years ago I was eating shrimp and one night I couldn't swallow because a reaction to one, just one, but haven't touched one since. I periodically eat salmon cooked on a hickory slab hahahaha, seasoned with bourbon but otherwise don't touch animals at all as far as eating them.....and some of the stuff that is described on menus nowadays is just horrible.
