So we've been getting the townhouse ready to sell,  Have had a young man named Gabriel here all week working outside. Sofia has been interested but polite and courteous. We've kept her inside most of the time as Gabriel has been up and down ladders, and scaling some of the higher walls, and a little leery of her.

Yesterday Mike and I had a bunch of errands to run and took the Diva with us... We were gone for about four hours.  House all locked up. Gabriel was packing up to go home for the day when we got back.

As he was walking away, Sofia went into full Doberman alert.. charged the fence, hackles all hackly ( it's a word) and we were at a loss as to why she was so upset with this guy whom she had watched for the last week without paying much attention.

Upon further investigation, we saw dirty fingerprints on the slider handle.. obviously Gabriel had tried to get in the house while we were gone...

Sofia KNEW something was wrong.. and believe me, for those of you who are concerned about your Doberman being a little reticent; when they instinctively go into 'dobermode..' you will wonder why you ever thought they were shy.

Wow! Sofia is amazing. Proof that you can't fool them.

I'm sure he was giving her some indication something wasn't right.
Before she was okay because she was "watching".

Oh, Katie, that's a bit scarey! Really gave me an uncomfortable feeling for you. Followed by relief that Sof is always watching your back! You must have felt a rush of pride and gratitude for her ever alert presense. Such a Blessing that you three are family! Post more photos of the house when you can! We are eager to see you in!

Thanks guys... yes. , she is truly an amazing girl.. to go from a complacent, 'rub-my-tummy, Mom' cuddle bunny to high alert guard dog in a nanosecond makes me appreciate this incredible breed even more than I did before.

Nope C.. He was well gone before we noticed the fingerprints.. will definately address it today when he comes back..

Barb... August move in date... ( it's been a year and a half)

We are totally consumed by the new house project.. Finally named it:

Villa De Paz ( Mandy helped) and thanks again to Sofia, there are NO .. zero.. nada.. bird nests.

Digging up the laja rock in the back yard to create a grassy knoll for the Diva.. ( there are THREE layers of floors in this poor place, including the back yard.. with a huge pila ( water reservoir)under all of the concrete, saltillo, more concrete, and laja rock.

I've changed the color of the fireplace so many times, the merry workers greet me at the door and say

"? Que colorea hoy Dona Katie??" ( what color today?) Finally finished staining all the little cupboard doors.. now it's time to varnish.. someone told me about Bees' Wax, says it's better for the wood and smells a lot better than the varnish. Thoughts and I suppose I should post this on our DIY thread.

Ordered Mike's shower and running into Rosarito today to buy a bell.. yes.. we're constructing a bell tower and I need a bell.. a big, cast iron ring- a- ding- ding bell.

H'asta mi amigos!!

Katie, I have to tell you I got chills while reading this! Please be careful confronting this guy, it could be dangerous. I know Sophia is there and will protect y'all, but still. I'm going to add a prayer of safety for y'all. Would love to see some pics, and when you get finished, please have a party for all of us!! Stay safe, xoxoxo Soph & Ang

Well Katie, how about that... you've been telling us on thread after thread how special our breed is and here the Diva shows us once again why you can testify to it.  Too bad you couldn't get that other guy (whose name I cannot remember) that the Diva loves.

I love the name but have no idea what it means.  I know I should be able to piece it together, but I failed.

Paint - I love it!  I change my mind more times than I change clothes.  But I know nothing of beeswax.

Birds.  I'm so proud of her.  I'm trying to get pictures of Reesie and the mocking bird that is terrorizing him.  He hates that bird.  It is looking in the door at us right now, but Reesie doesn't see it.  Puppy's nap time.  Sofia needs to share some 'birding' advice with us!  Reesie hasn't figured it out like the Diva has!

Glad you guys are safe.  Maybe you should get that brother for Sofia sooner than later?! :-)
