SearchStrange... Some Threads I can Post to and Others I Can't
Alpha, maybe you can help... It appears I'm able to post a new thread here. It shows I'm logged in and I'm able to view my account. BUT, when I go to my Xander thread to update, it says I need to log in to post. Yet, I'm already logged in.
So, I log in again, and view my account, everything looks okay, but then I go to the This is Xander thread again, it says I must log in before posting.
Can you think of a reason why it's only some threads available to me and not others??
I'll keep trying, but I'm baffled.
What browser are you using? It sounds like your browser is bringing up the page as it is before you log in. Browsers are supposed to save pages, or certain parts of pages, but sometimes with some browsers problems occur. If you clear temporary internet files that should fix things.
That's good to know, thanks Alpha. I'm currently using Firefox. I'll have to log in with Internet Explorer next time and see if that keeps me from needing to refresh to post. Thanks for all you do!! 
I use FireFox too and have the same issues. Don't happen else where. shrug! BUT FF has been a bit buggy this go round.
Had problems today posting to the thread by dobieluvr and his home owners insurance. I can post to every other thread in General except that one. Weird.
When I go to that thread, I see no reply buttons and at the bottom not comment box. I see a message in green to log in or register to post comments. If I click on the log in link, I am taken to a page that says access denied.
I have close my browser, I have rebooted same result. This was on firefox. Leaving this comment box open in Firefox and another tab to the Access Denied page, I logged into the forum with Internet Explorer 8 and clicked on the log in link and was given the normal log in screen. I was then able to post. Very weird.
rgreen, did you clear the cache (tools -> clear resent history -> cache) on firefox before restarting it?
No I did not. Strange thing, I shut down that machine and after supper, I came into the living room and am on my laptop. Same thing. I can post to any other thread. In fact I just posted to Gingersmommy's thread and then looked at the the homeowners policy thread, and it asks me to log in.
I will try that and see what these two machine will do.
Edit update - that worked on this laptop. Strange that it was only the one thread. I will have to keep that in mind again. Thanks. I will fix the desktop in the morning.

Well, I went back to the Xander thread and when it said I needed to log in (even though I was already logged in) I hit "refresh" on the page, and that appeared to clear up the problem. I was then able to post to the thread.
Not sure why it does that, but refreshing solved my problem.
Go figure.
