Today we loss Duncan. Our hearts are broken. He was the best dog i have ever had. Just a few days before his 6th birthday we found out that he had 2 stones in his bladder. He had surgery and had a good recovery. Everything was healing great, good spirits and eating ok since we had to start switching his food to a perscription diet. Out of the blue he started picking at his food, eating grass and then vomiting. Stopped eating completely took him to the vet, blood work done, x rays. They think he was having a reaction to the internal sutures. Was anemic, liver enzymes were high Started meds. Next day took him to see a internist because he was now extremely weak. Internist started transfusions. Looked like he was starting to improve then all of a sudden things went down hill. In a matter of 30 minutes i was making a decision to put him down because the transfusions were not helping, he could no longer breathe on his own. The blood was disapearing and they had no idea where he was losing blood. I wish i could have been aside of him and petting him to give him comfort. I will forever have a piece of my heart missing. I love you very much and will miss you tremendously Duncan.

Words are just not enough at these times, but know I feel your pain and share it.

So sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss.  It's always a shock, especially when it comes out of the blue.

RIP Duncan baby boy. I feel your pain, but he is waiting now- and in no pain-for you.
