Hi Everyone,

Fraser and myself are new here.

We are from Melbourne, Australia.

Fraser here is 8 weeks old and weighs 6.5kgs. He just came home from the breeder 3 days ago.

Much to my suprise, in 3 days time, he learnt to sit and stay for his food.(only eats upon release word "free"). Toilet training is a breeze. He scratches on the door when he wants to go outside. Plus he eats and goes potty on a schedule. Today we had first walk around the block. He walked nicely next to me, except when he got a fright from a truck driving by.

He's great with our cat and sits on the backseat nicely with car travel.

He is my first Doberman. I'm totally besotted with him. SO CUTE, SMART AND LOVING=)

COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE!!

(I'm still working out how to post photos)

Welcome Jess and Fraser :) I'm a fellow aussie, but from the other side (perth) Oodles of info and advice from some lovely and knowedgable dober parents, so you've def come to the right place :D Look forward to seeing some piccies of your gorgeous boy! Our Harley is now 11months and comes in at just over 35kg, boy I miss those puppy days! lol.

I know how exciting it is when you bring home your little bundle of lovin, but a little word of advice is to not take him outside your back yard until he has completed ALL of his shots. Parvo his a horrible disease (can be fatal) and our gorgeous little ones are very vulnerable to it until they are fully immunised. It sucks I know! We were itching to get Harley out and about but had to wait until he was about 16 weeks! But in the mean time lots and lots of training and cuddling and perhaps a few puppy classes. They are great for socializing and as there are other puppies in the class, usually little to no risk of parvo.  highly recommened them :)

Well enjoy and know that we are all here to help in any way we can :)

Sian and Harley

p.s ^^ this is what you have to look forward to :D

Sian and Harley=)

Thanks for the advices! I took him literally walked around our house block and it took about 5 mins. He didn't sniff or eat anything during walk. (thank goodness). Thinking back I feel so bad that potentially he could've become ill because of my ignorance...=( but OMG, 8 more weeks of being at home lol.

Puppy class tomorrow night=) very excited. I think Fraser would have fun=)

Harley is a gorgeous boy. And yes sometimes I wish Fraser doesn't have to grow up=)

Scotty. thanks also=)

Thanks Jess, we think so :p

Don't feel too badly about taking him out and about, now you know :D Glad I could help. You guys are going to loooove puppy class! Keep us updated on how he goes.

On another note, which breeder did you get frasier from? We will be on the hunt for another puppa in a few years when Harley is older and I like to talk to as many people as I can about different breeders. Nice to be in the know ;)

Fraser is from Kaiela Doberman, Mornington, VIC. One of our friends got there girl Chelsea from Coppertop Doberman, Pakenham, VIC. we are both very happy with our breeder as they breed for temperament. full DNA test results for genetic disorders. (even the same price). Only difference is: full pedigree with Kaiela, limited pedigree with Coppertop.

Fraser is only a baby, and I'm thinking of getting him a doggie girlfriend already. =)

Just came back from puppy school. Fraser is Knackered. lol. went into his bed straight away and was out cold in 2 minutes. We did loose lead walking, sit, recall and toys today. Fraser here is a breeze on  the lead. Was a bit hard to recall as he was busy making friend with Bailey the Cocker Spaniel. =)
