SearchNew Doberman from Georgia, Chico!
Hello! I am new here and new to any type of forum. I'd just like to introduce my newest love, Chico. He's a stunning fellow- born on 14 October in Marion, SC and we brought him home with us to Grovetown, Georgia. He became a member of our family on 28 Nov 11 . He's been both a joy as well as a challenge :o) At his last vet visit on 3 Jan 12 he weighed 20 lbs. 8 oz.

GA native here, BTW. Although I did most of my growing up in TN, we're from Daugherty and Atkinson counties.
Thank you! Your Gideon is gorgeous, too! We live in Grovetown, Ga now, but I was born in Michigan and raised in Virginia Beach. I've seen a lot of the world since then- thanks to the US Army :o)
@Michelle: Thank you. Tron was my baby and it was hard to part with him, but I'm so greatful that his new family was willing to stay in touch with me, that made it a little easier. But, on an up note we are adding a red male puppy to our family in about a week. We are very, very excited, but none will ever replace my Tron Tron or the place he has in my heart.
Keep us posted on how Chico is doing 
VA Beach was my last duty station in the Marine Corps. Small world. Looking forward to watching Chico grow up!

btripp3288, I am SOOO excited to hear that someone in the forum lives SO close! I would absolutely love to get our dogs together for a playdate. Chico should be ready for public exposure after his next vet visit. I hope we can get together soon! How exciting!
We live in Grovetown. If you're familiar with Fort Gordon we are exactly 7 miles straight out of gate 2 just past the IGA.
Btripp3288- did you still want to get our pups together for a playdate? Chico's 4 month vet visit is on the 26th of this month. Would you like to get together in February sometime?
My little doggy is growing up. I've noticed today that he's lost 3 baby teeth. Teeth that were just there the other day!
They start teething again at around 16 weeks of age, so that is just right for Chico. He will be teething until he is about 1 year old as the back teeth start coming in. My vet told me to keep Jake on Pet-Cal calcium tablets for a while to aid his bone and teeth growth. He is just about through the second bottle. He is getting his new fangy things 
in now. The uppers are about halfway in and the lowers are coming in nicely.
Did you find that yours tried teething on their blankets? I've had to remove Chico's blankets and throw them away because he will saw off large peices of the blankets with his teeth and then proceed to try to swallow the peices of his blanket. Twice I've had to clean up blanket that he's thrown up. He loves his blankets, but I am too afraid that he'll accidentally choke to death if I'm not around.
I will see if I can find those calcium suppliments for him, too. Thank you! :o)
