Pet Profiles

Hello Y'all, I have been visiting your site for months to gather plenty of great Doberman information, so I decided it was time to become a member and contribute with my limited knoweldge. With that said; I realize y'all (you can tell I'm from the South) probably don't care too much about me, so allow me to introduce "Sure Shot Axel."

Axel is a well-bred European Doberman. Axel is also my loyal friend & Support Animal. Axel was raised to provide plenty of love and support while maintaining his protective instinct. Axel will be 1 year old on April 30th, so I'm busy planning his birthday party. I hope Axel and I will be a good addition to Gentle Doberman, and we can repay y'all for all the help y'all have been to us. By the way....Axel is an old German name that means "father of peace."

      Here is Axel's intillectual look!

Welcome!

I'm curious about who your breeder is. I remember hearing that someone was using "Sure Shot" a while ago.  A friend of mine who does not breed often has used "Sureshot" for over 25 years - she is an American line show breeder. I know she isn't happy that someone is using her kennel name.

It isn't easy to get the AKC to register a kennel name so that no one else can use it - you have to breed quite a bit. For that reason, she does not own the name. However, most people will do a search for names before choosing a kennel name to make sure that they are not taking a name already in use..... especially in the same breed. I know that some people don't care - your breeder is not the only one to ignore that unwritten rule.
