Ok so starting from where we left off .....

We had this sign made up to go on our side gate. :D

Yes the big goofball is actually fast asleep! LOL

Na na na na na na na na na na na na....BAT DOG :P

spotting a playmate at our beach, he's about 9months here

Going for a swim on nice hot day

Love the action shots

Who could resist such a face?!

This one was taken a few weeks ago, I think it was about a week before he turned 10months. My handsome Harley :)

Hope you enjoyed watching him grow :) Looking forward to being back online and will now spend the rest of my afternoon catching up with you guys!

What a handsome guy!  It's so different to me to see him with his entire tail, I'm so used to the little wagging nub :)  I love the sign!  He's the picture of viciousness peeking over the gate ;)  Can you believe he's creeping up on his first birthday already?

Very nice photos!  Love the beach ones.

I also like your gate sign---it lets people know that there is a doberman patrolling without issuing a 'warning' such as "Beware of Dog".  My insurance rep told me that signs that say 'Beware' could work against the homeowner in a case where their dog might actually bite someone, because if the sign is warning people to 'beware' of their dog, it shows that they know the dog might attack.  At least, that was my insurance person's perspective of signs like that.  I just have one that says "Doberman X-ing" on my fence.

Absolutely stunning!  Glad to hear your getting all settled in.

Paul- I have heard the same thing about beware signs.  I figure if you don't know that I have a doberman on the property then thats your bad.

My trainer posted this on fb lol

Wow your boy is beautiful! I really like the sitting pose, so noble! I like the beach action shots too. I also like you Doberman sign. Like others have said its not imposing, but just lets people know that there is a Doberman on site. I've had different experiences with different insurance companies. One company I had required me to post a sign, and the other company had no problems with owning a Doberman and had the same outlook on signs as what Ziva's Dad said. So, for the company that required the sign, I had a wooden sign made that said "A Happy Doberman Lives Here". Hey, it was a sign, lol :)

My hubby, who is a brand new lawyer, says the same thing about signs.  I called our insurance rep about Harley when we first got him, and they said he was covered as long as he was not trained to attack.  No shutzhund for us then!

Love the name and the pics!

Oh thanks everyone :)

I'm loving everyone's idea's for signs!

Our landlord is a policeman and when we first met them to go through the house (we rent privately, aka. no real estate agents) He suggested getting a sign made up that doesn't say Caution/Warning/Beware/Gaurd dog etc because if a foolish idiot decided it would be smart to jump into a doberman's yard and gets attacked...even scratched or nipped, we could get sued and chances are as we would have admitted to having a dangerous dog, things wouldn't go our way. So just thought we would let people know that we have a dobie and what they choose to do with that information is up to them :) Pretty much just what ZD said :)

But as you can see Harley is quite the vision of viciousnes :P lol Our lawn mower man comes once a month and is now happy to let himself in, Harley usually greets him with a deep and deceptive bark, a thumping tail and a ball dropped at his feet! lol.

Funny you guys should mention about him being happy, Our vet thinks he is one of the most happiest dogs he has ever come across! lol, I sometimes wish it wasn't against the law to dock is tail........I have lost count of how many mugs/glasses/etc he has knocked off our coffee table with his wagging tail! Not to mention the bruises I have on my leg from it! lol. But it's a great feeling to know your dog is happy :)

That is a great picture. And some good comments re: signs. We've got them, but never considered the implications of a simple "beware."
