Here's my half-attempt at DJ's Halloween costume for her Howl-O-Ween party at the Doggie Daycare place.  We will be leaving to go there in about an hour, so I hope she doesnt rub it off or lick it off before then!  LOL

If any of you are dressing your dog up for Trick or Treat, or just for a photo, PLEASE, share them here!

Thanks---I've seen this done before, but much MUCH more realistic.  I figured it sort of conveyed the idea, anyhow.

I knew she would NEVER allow a traditional 'costume' to be on her without trying to rip it to shreds....this way, she doesnt even know she's dressed up!  Hahaha.

Not only is Deej not ripping off her costume, she's not embarrassed, either!

Nice job, Paul - really creative!

Paul,

I hope you dont mind if I steal this idea for Axel.  Im having a hard time finding a suitable costume for him.  At least one that will stay on him lol.  Ill post pics.

Have fun with it!  I used water-soluable, non-toxic face paint (actually found it at Wal Mart for 97-cents per tube and I used about a tube and a half).  It takes about 20 minutes to dry, and it will rub off before it's totally dry.  Cleanup was easy, but I thought I got it all off of her with one bath because she looked all black again while wet, but when she dried off, I could still see a little bit of paint residue in her fur...no problem.  Another warm bath and soaping down with Dawn dishwashing detergent got it all.  (I figure if Dawn is safe to take oil off of ducks, it wont hurt a dog)

DJ actually won 3rd place in the costume contest, and she didnt even realize that she was wearing a costume.  LOL.  There were more than 25 dogs entered, and the competition was feirce.  LOL  She won a $25 gift certificate from the Doggie Daycare place.  Not too bad!

This costume was purchased for Buddy 2 weeks ago. Today, he cannot wear it because it's too small! They're worse than kids! lol
