Buddy Passed!!!
Hey Guys Buddy Passed his WAE...TODAY....I am such a proud dad...and this was his first time!!!!!.....I was curious how he would do , but he came throuGh with flying colORS!!!
OMG Nupe.. that's even better news than you think.. When I read the heading, my heart just stopped
CONGRATULATIONS BUDDY!!
Me too, scared the pss out of me! Better headline next time?? Anyway ATTA BOY BUDDY!!!!!!
WAY TO GO BUDDY!!!!!!!
So now tell me all about it. Dying to hear all the details. What you thought about it how many dogs passed where did most of them fail. What did Buddy do with the aggressor? Wish I didn't have to go to work cant wait to hear more about it.
OMG Guys didnt think of headline ///Got home and first thing I did was tell you all...didnt mean to scare anyone./..and thanks for Congrats!!
well rn.....I was #8 out of 14...I left after I was done...and I was first one of the day to pass it...first seven failed...(I was so damn proud)!!!...I thought it was very interesting first watching other people with their dogs..then me myself going with Buddy....and rn you are so right..the thing that kills everyone is the agressive stranger...so many dogs backed up and ran behind their handler...but not my Buddy ..went right to end of leash and bark 3 times...
I was scared when I read the title of your new thread. I thought it meant your dog Buddy died. I wanted to cry! Thank Goodness it wasn't! What kind of test did he take?
WAE ..WORKING APTITUDE EVALAUATION @ MISS DOGLOVER
Isn't it fascinating to watch! You should be very proud of him! How was his recovery time afterwards? When I ran through the test with Paris she was very strong and very aggressive to the bad guy, she also had a harder time calming afterwards. Did you see alot of over shyness in regards to the umbrella? This seems to be another area where the dogs can't recover from.
Again congratulations, Im so proud of both of you. Good job!!!!!!!
Congrats! Buddy!
NUPE DON'T DO THAT!!!
Ever Again!
Ahh Buddy You and Nupe...sooo BAD DUDES!
I'd hate to be on your list. You must have been thrilled with the boy. Wish we could have seen it.
How's the raw diet going?
Congrats! Buddy!
NUPE DON'T DO THAT!!!

How's the raw diet going?
recovery time was about 10 seconds for Buddy @rn.... and that was because bad guy went back behind the van he came from lol ...but Buddy was still staring (not barking anymore)..at him and that van down until he got out of visual site....as far as the umbrella not too many overly shy on umbrella,.,,I saw alot of shyness and uncertainty walking across the crate...alot would not do it!!...But very eye opening experinece for me and Buddy yesterday...I highly recommend WAE FOR PEOPle and their dogs...You will learn alot about your dogs I feel!!....................and RAW IS GOING GREAT @Bbroyles...I have it down to a science now...............I think..lol
Congrats!! Im not familiar with your tests, so I have to ask-is WAE like our ZTP?
yes basically....misslo......here is a video of one.(No this is not Buddty in video..lol))...Notice the last test the aggressive stranger!!..I think this dog failed the WAE in the video.
One thing I dont quite get: isn't there training before the WAE? I know dogs here "prepare" for ZTP.
And what is the desired reaction with the friendly stranger and a car?
I know a dog who was a sissy but with training he is now ok/reacting properly. And why was the dog on a prong?? My girl would have killed herself at the stranger part if she had a prong.. Maybe thats one of the reasons he avoided him. She could at least have him on a normal collar?
Sorry for ruining your brag thread lol. So congrats again! You dont have a video of Buddy passing by any chance?
You are not "suppose" to prepare for the WAE...FOR FRIENDLY STRANGER ...DOG SHOULD REALIZE HE IS FRIENDLY because you are suppose to be talking to the stranger as they walk up to you..so dog should just sniff, greet or be indifferent towards him..definitely not aggressive towards friendly stranger.LOL....and at my WAE THEY USED A REGULAR FLAT COLLAR (ONE COLLAR FOR ALL THE DOGS)) NO CHOKER OR PRONG....AND NO VIDEO OF BUDDY ...*KICKING MYSELF NOW**
LOL And you didnt ruin my "brag" thread...Just a proud Dad....!!!
WAY TO GO BUDDY!!!! We're so proud of you both!

YAY UNCLE BUDDY!!!!!! SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!
Go BUDDY!!! That's awesome, congrats!! You have every right to be a proud daddy, I would be proud too! I can't wait until Dakota is old enough to be tested.
Misslo, here is another thread where we discussed the WAE and protection training in detail. It has alot of good info on it.
http://www.gentledoberman.com/forums/training-doberman-pinscher/training...
The reason you should not train for the test is you want a clear picture of what the dog is naturally.
I've said on MANY occasions and will say it once again... MOST Doberman owners are very surprised that their dogs are not the protectors they thought they were. Nupe said he was the 8th dog in I believe and all the dogs failed the test before him. In the test we took out of 20+ dogs tested only 4 passed 2 were mine. They fail the most on the aggressor portion. You would be so surprised at how many hide behind their owners! This is because for the most part this is being bred out of them.
I know NOW that you arent supposed to prepare your dog, and it seems logical, but they do train them for ZTP here.. And they do bite the aggressive stranger on ZTP. Looks partly like defense in IPO. And the group of people that surround the dog.. Yikes.
Many dogs would fail the stranger part here too, but not if they are trained first. It is sad, I just posted in another thread, how many dogs dont have "it" in them, but are trained to react properly.
And I like the thread you posted, sounds like my doubts about protection, because in everyday life, my girl is an angel so I thought she would never bark at a man approaching aggressively.
Congrats to you both! :)
a little late but congrats Buddy!
thanks everyone...I appreciate that!!
Congratulations Buddy and Nupe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got here a little late... ooppss...
CONGRATS!!!!!![]()
Congrats Nupe!! I remember you were saying that you were going to take the test, so I knew what the title meant, and said a somewhat loud "Yessss!!!! way to go!!!"
Misslo, training for these tests defeats the point of the test... The test is to see what the dog NATURALLY does, and training for it will show you nothing, and be very misleading.
Buddy!!! Pawlease accept my apologies for a late CONGRATS!!!! Mummy is a dummy, and missed this tread! You rock, cute boy!!!

No problem Chip and ty...!!...and ty you to Kev
Oh, I am SO late with this! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you guys!! I saw the buddy passed line and I knew, I sucked my breath in and said "yes!" What an accomplishment!
NYC's finest!!!
ty Blue...yes I am a proud Dad!!

Congrats Nupe, way to go Buddy! Now this thread has to end,.....I had a dream about Buddy last night!!! LOL
oh no...have to hear about the dream before we end this thread?/...**listening**
Congrats to you both. And Nupe if I can ask, why did you test Buddy? I have had a couple of dobes before, but have never gotten "into" them as much as it seems everyone else has. I am not familiar with this test. and without asking too many questions, The comment from blue 4 about NYC's finest? Just wondering.
Great job both of you
@chris....No Buddy and me are not affiliated with the NYPD...If that is where you was going..lol. ...and I had him take the WAE...because I feel it is a great test to judge how your dog will react in certain situiations.(its basically a tempermen test)..For example....there is a part Where a friendly stranger approaches you..obviously your dog should not be aggressive then....but there is also a part where a aggressive starnger comes toward you...there he should be protective and stand between you and that aggressive stRAnger AND PROTECT YOU..there is more to the test then the 2 examples I stated...but....bottom line...I had a good idea how Buddy would react to these different situations...the WAE WILL HELP TO CONFIRM IT, SOMEWHAT. Here is a video of a dog taking the WAE TEST..(NO THIS IS NOT bUDDY)) LOL
Thanks, Nupe, had not heard of these tests before. It would be great to know just how my pet monsters would react if we really needed them. I definately will check out the video. Buddy is a great looking guy. I didn't know if you were going to get him a job lol.
Congrats again to both of you, and thanks for the info
thanks chris....Buddy says ty to!

was out at park yesterday and today ..just a couple of quick pics I took ...

Oh my goodness Buddy,
You are so handsome. So big and strong... sigh..
I am still a little smitten with you ( in case you haven't noticed)
Sofia

As I am with you, my fawn princess!!
Buddy
I'm chiming in a little late but CONGRATS on a job well done. I'll be looking into that soon myself.
Braver Hund !!!
yes Gunslinger I highly recommend the WAE....It will definitely give you a very good idea of you dogs temperment. When Buddy and me took the test, some owners WHO WERE THERE were not surprised how their dogs did under certain situations, but some were definitely surprised!! IT CAN BE VERY EYE OPENING!!!
