SearchPosting Pics Help Needed
Okay, I'm new to the forum, and not very computer literate, but I was wanting to post the pics that the breeder sent to me on my cell phone. Can someone tell me how to do that?? Thanks
or send to your email from your cell and copy and paste
Photobucket is the easist for me...I can upload them there right from my phone. Then later when I'm on here and want to post a pic I just go there and cut and paste the IMG file.

Probably the easiest solution. You can even edit your images in photobucket.
How about changing our picture here?? I have gone into Account and Edit and deleted my picture, uploaded a new one and it will not show it or change it at all. Kinda weird. Am I not doing something right???
Did you resize it small enough, Tal? Sometimes you have to hit refresh a few times for it to show up.
I use the photo uploader in the comment box. It's the green square beside the round red circle with the f in the middle in the last bar on the top row. It will open a window and I click the blue browse server button; that will open a new window. Click the upload box in the top left corner to browse photos that are on your computer, select the photo you want to upload then click the upload button. Once the upload is complete, go up to the top row boxes. The last one is send to ckeditor, click this box and it will send it to edit box on the forum. Click ok and the picture is inserted into your post. Hope this helps. I can't wait to see pics of your baby :)

Yes I did notice after the first few times that the size was 31 and the limit was 30 so I did resize it to 29 and it still wouldn't accept it. I like the pic of Ben but I would like to update him I have better pics of him etc. and it just seems weird that I can't change it, I used to have Goofy my collie as my pic then got Ben and when Goofy died I put Ben on, it worked then, but dang not sure what the issue is. I will keep trying but if anyone has any suggestions keep em coming.....Thanks sweetpea normally I would have missed that 30 being a limit just cause of being in a hurry but was getting so aggravated I started to read ALL the fine print, hahahahaha frustration set in so I quit......may try again today sometime.
Look at the file size. Even if the image is proportionally correct it's resolution may be high. I usually drop the resolution down for all images on the web to 72ppi.

Hmmm....I also am having issues replacing my avatar with a new one. Strange, no matter what I do the original will stay. I've deleted and uploaded a new one and bamn! Old avatar is right back. Maybe I'm missing something.
But, if this issue effects all members, I'd say that the database that drupal (the CMS this site uses) is backed by could have an issue or possible the folder that avatar images are stored has the apache permission set wrong. Could also be a Drupal php bug. But, strange that the original avatar will not delete.
I can get the avatar to delete but if I try to then upload a new pic it somehow finds the old one and poof there it is again - the old one. Hmmmmmm......
Halooo Talisin, We have the same problem. I cannot change my avatar too. once i change it the old one will be displayed even if i put a check mark on the check box to delete the picture.

Michelle: about uploading, just use photobucket coz it is easy once you have uploaded your pics on that site. I also have a difficulty posting pictures here coz I was copying the wrong code from the photobucket.
Ok, I just found something out. After you upload your new picture (for you avatar), nothing really seems to change. The original image is still there.
Well folks, I just changed my avatar. For some reason it took a day for the change to take affect. I thought it didn't work and the next day, sure enough my new picture was there and the old one was deleted. Don't really know why it works that way.
Ok, if I switch browsers, like go from Chrome to Firefox, my avatar is different. Maybe the avatar is a cookie. Really strange. I have never seen forum software work this way.

I am looking at it through firefox and I see the three puppies... is that what I am supposed to see?
Well, it's supposed to be two. What's weird is that I see two different avatars depending on when the browser view the page.
Chrome would be the oldest and firefox the most recents. Right now I'm seeing the two puppy avatar. What may be the case is that the site is not deleting avatars, but rather cycling through multiple ones, hence seeing two images and different times.
IDK, it's just stange to see a site act that way. Not much I can really do about it because I don't admin this site. I'm a web developer and just kinda found the issue interesting, so I thought I would try to help.

Hey, it is showing my new picture on both but I don't see it here. Hmmmmmm, I will go change it and wait to see if it applies it. I think its' interesting to see the photo I wanted finally show up for somebody else, hahaha go figure
Ok I need to know what picture shows up for me?? is it Ben standing or asleep on the sofa??? I only see the old one of him standing but obviously somehow his asleep on the sofa is showing up for d_spaghetti not sure how but I don't have it so what do you see???

Still the old one I see on my avatar. Hope this will change tomorrow, it’s just a borrowed picture before I got my girl.
Happens all the time here - it saves in like the cookies or the cache or something so to you it will appear to show the old pic but to the rest of us it will show the new. If you clear that all out and refresh a few times it usually fixes it.
Ok the one of ben asleep on the sofa is the current one, but I see the old one. I even logged off and logged back on and it kept the old one. Not sure what to do.

hahahahaha, I know I can't see it here but I see it every night in person, guess that's what matters he really is a big lug of a dog, tonight I spent 1 1/2 hours sitting on the floor giving him a massage while he talked about it and did the oooo and ahhhhhh's and squirming to move so I could get this spot, that spot, ooooo rub my belly, it was really funny, he loves his nightly massages. I thought that if I started with massages now every night that maybe just maybe he wouldn't suffer to soon with hip issues, here's hoping it works, I know he loves it. I am also looking into a new vet who has an accupuncturist and accupressurist on staff to have them as a back up for any future issues with Ben. I have a consultation on Feb. 3rd to see if Ben is a good fit for their ability. Always trying to stay one step ahead of the rottie health problems, boy keeps me busy......
OK folks, when you change your avatar, clear your browser cache. I was fussing one evening, and forgot that (I was changing my avatar from Red to Princess after he passed) and was really frustrated. Then I went to a machine that I had not been on a while, and voila, the new image of Princess was there. I went back to my laptop and it was still Red. Then the lightbulb went off.
I cleared the cache on both my browsers and Princess was there. After a while if you do nothing the browser cache will clear itself, which is why the image will show up a day or so later.
Tal, it is good to hear about your interactions with Ben. You love and care seem to have done wonders for him. It is obvious from the avatar, the is very comfortable and is very loved. Give our "honorary" Dobe a few scritces from Princess and Jake.
Since it has been a few days and your cache has not updated, in Firefox, click on the orange Firefox tab in the upper left (FF 9.0) and move your cursor over the word history in the list in the right hand column. Then click on "clear recent history". In the box that opens, uncheck everything except cache (unless you do want to clear the others) and then click on "clear now". Then close FF. When you reopen, you should have the avatar of Gentle Ben on the couch.
That's so informative cause I didn't do anything and the pic is now there, so it all makes sense now, duh, and more duh, I will remember this for next time. Thanks, as for Ben well he weighed in today at 115lbs. I told that husband of mine to stop giving him treats behind my back. They are like two children together, when mom isn't watching we will sneak treats; he is such a pushover for Ben's pitiful eye expressions, but I think now after hearing the vet he knows I was right......so maybe next avatar will show another Benie Man picture.......
