New to Family
Hello Everyone,
I am new to the site. The site has been very helpful and has provided tons of insight. I am so excited about the soon to be new addition to my family. It has been a long time waiting. After several years of reading and choosing the best breeder the day has finally come. The dam is expecting her liter any day now. I have many feelings excited, nervous, and what have I got myself into. I look forward to sharing my life long journey with everyone. As soon as I have pictures I will post them.
I remember waiting to get Freyja, it consumes you. Of course once you get your Dobie they consume you too. I'm sure my friends get tired of hearing about how great Freyja is.
Use your time before your pup arrives to get ready. You'll have your hands full after he/she arrives ![]()
I agree with that one about the friends lol... I was super excited the first time dakota stayed while I walked away and waited to come until I called... most people could give a crap though lol
no! no! no! KK.. au contraire ( you didn't know I was bi-lingual did you!!) Ha. ( and I speak menu Spanish too)
But I digress.. Never was the statement "Love me love my dog" more appropriate.. I delight in the tails of Dakota's progress and applaud you for your devotion to her and to all the rest of the Dobermans who cross our path via this forum
.. When I start in on: 'Sofia this and Sofia that' and I see my friends eyes start to glaze over.. well.. that's it.. they're not invited back.
we are obsessive and possesive and down right giddy about our kids.. and so should it be! just look what comes back to us!!
yep! at least we have a place here where we can tell these stories and people actually appreciate them lol. I meant most people outside this forum lol. Majority of dog owners I meet have no clue what they're doing, and don't appreciate anything, and don't understand why you would do mean things like not let your dog in your bed, and not let her run through doors, and pee wherever she wants, or sit before she gets attention, the list goes on. My parents call me hitler behind my back lol.
Most people only have dogs. We are the few blessed to have Dobermans. My later sister always like to come and visit because she would be able to bring her brood (3 Min. Schnauzers) who would then also enjoy visiting with my brood (3 Min. Schnauzers plus one or two Dobermans) although they didn't always get along with the Dobies (Schnauzer panic at realizing that a Doberman could make a nice lunch out of a Schnauzer.
