SearchHow snuggly or not is your Dobey???
I wanted to get a general idea of how snuggly everyones Doberman really is with them.
Shelbi will allow me and dad to snuggle with her but the kids (15,14,11) not so much. She will get up on the couch and snuggle with me, but will not snuggle with dad on the couch. (This only is allowed on the day she gets her bath and the day after, no other furniture ever, and she knows what days she can and can not get on the couch.)
Can anyone explain the Doberman thoughts on who they will and will not snuggle with???
Who does your Doberman snuggle with and not snuggle with?

Bruno snuggles with me mostly, sometimes the kids. He is extremely cuddly, no matter what Im doing, he is all over me. Him wuvs his momma!
Do you think the boys are more snuggly than the girls.. I inow the male I had was velcro... My female prob would if i let her on the bed.. I didnt let the big dogs on my bed.. but I have mellowed and I see many pictures with the dobies on beds lol

Dexter is velcro and always by my side but I would say the only time he wants to cuddle is nap or bed time.
Hazel is not always "whatcha doin" but is very much a cuddlebug! Will stop in mid zoomies to place her head on my lap etc
Fancy is my conjoined twin! But seriously, she'll snuggle with anyone in the family.
my male Apollo was joined to me at my right hip.. we just about fit going thru door ways..

My previous Dobe, Diesel, was the biggest snuggler. It didnt matter who was at the house, he would go from lap to lap. Now Axel is velcro to me. If we are outside he has to see where I am and then he always runs back to me and goes between my legs. Now he is only 3 months and 20 lbs so that will have to change lol.

Loki loves to snuggle only if he is laying on you, doesn't like it if I lay on him the brat. He will lay on everyone and stare up with those big brown eyes, "luv me".

Ginger is a total snugglebear and an equal opportunity snuggler. She loves nothing more than to lay on top of me or John and be kissed and petted, and she can sleep through it all. She will even dig her feet in the bed to scootch as tight as possible. All I do is kiss and pet that dog! We call her our live stuffed animal.
I think some of this has to do with what they are allowed to do as puppies. If you held them on your lap on the bed or furniture they got used to sleeping on/against you. Rocky was not allowed on furniture and therefore never really learned to cuddle. Now he always wants in the same room and if I go to bed before Tye he's allowed up until we're both in bed but even then he doesn't touch me, just lays in Tye's spot until he comes in.
Same on the couch - he might put his butt against my leg but that's about it for the touching when he sleeps. And if he's not sleeping he's probably bugging us to play, or hold his bone, or pet him, or something.....

Check out this little guy. He literally trys his best to sleep either half his body on random limbs of his choosing that night or his head wedged under mine.... it is super annoying but to cute for me to stop so it's growing on me ;)

Bruno did something unexpected last night. He's not supposed to be on the furniture and he knows that. But my daughter (8 years) wasn't feeling well last night. In the middle of the night I woke up and couldn't find Bruno. I looked in my daughters room and he was all snuggled in bed with her, like "It's okay, hairless puppy, I will be with you while you're sick." So stinkin' cute!! Wish I had taken a picture.

DJ is a snuggler with me, my wife and my son---but only when she is tired. When she's full of energy, you couldnt force her to stand still long enough to hug her, much less snuggle. When she gets the least bit tired, though, she will jump up in the recliner with my son, or lie on the bed beside whomever happens to be lying across a bed watching tv or reading. She snuggles with me on the couch durning evening hours when I am TRYING to be on my laptop---but her face tends to overshadow my keyboard much of the time. LOL
