Blackie the Doberman
Okay, I haven't seen the movie. But I read this opinion piece by Mr. Scorsese, who felt slighted that Blackie was not nominated for his role in Hugo. I am sure Blackie was a great actor (how could he not be?). I thought I would share.

Alright guys, go out there and vote!!
voted ;)
I voted!
well now I want to go rent this movie...never heard of it before now.
I'll have to vote later as work blocks all the fun stuff....
Blackie has received over 500 write in votes in less than 24 hours and has become the 6th and final nominee in the "best dog in a theatrical film" category.
Martin has been one of my favourite directors for many years, but he solidified that feeling with these words "Dobermans were bred by a German tax collector who was afraid of being bludgeoned to death by the citizenry. But does that mean we must condemn the entire breed? Must we forget the magnificent physical achievements of such legendary Dobermans as Bingo von Ellendonk (who achieved a perfect score in the storied Schutzhund competition), Borong the Warlock, Baracuda Liborium or Caravelle Drillbit?"
He got to know the breed and sees past the media dictated fear of the breed.
Yay!! I really hope Blackie wins!
