Updated Jace Cropping Pics and ear Pocket question PICS INSIDE
Hey guys Jace is doing great. We have posted him once for a week long and we took his posts off and let dry for a day and reposted. The Blue posts are the new ones. THe ones where they are standing was after taking the first posts off. At first they were kind of going over top of his head and He seemed to have pockets (even though im not sure what they are) I am posting him a new way now. Below is the link to the new way im posting him. Let me know what you guys think

Thanks man. Yea I am doing the same posting as you are now. I think one of the issues is when he came from the vet he had his ears taped over his head and then we had a bridge for his first posting.
First of all a pocket is when the ear collapses on it self..at the base of the ear collapses closest to his head. In order to correct this you really need to pull the ear up tight and make sure the ear does not slide down the post. You can back tape the post to help hold the ear up...I normally don't leave the posts for a full week usually only 4-5are days at a time. If the ear is standing you can leave it for a full day you however, if the ear is not standing it needs to go up within a few hours...just enough time to air out. You also want to make sure you clean the ear before posting to prevent an infection. If you already have to pocket you need to use something in the post to push it outwards. I use a small piece of the foam post cut in half, measure the post to the earand place it accordingly, then back tape over it too.

Phin had pockets, and we also did the backer rod posts, but added a piece of backer rod cut in half length wise and attached at the base of the post about half an inch up from the bottom to push out the part of the ear that was collapsing. To avoid a pocket you have to really pull up on the ear so that it's fully extended up the length of the post so that it's not collapsing back down on top of his head.
This is the method that I used for Phin.
