Hello everyone. I'm new here. My name is Ignacio. I have a Red Dobe. His name is Remi. I'm looking for someone in my area to crop his ears. I live near Modesto California. Can someone point me and my pup Remi in the right direction. Thanks..

My neighbor is looking for a good vet for cropping her new Dobie's ears.  We live in Montgomery, Al.  I do not know one, my breeder had my dogs ears done.  If anyone knows of one in the area please let me know so I can tell her.  Thanks.

I personally would rather see a natural earred Doberman than one with a bad crop. Leaving new owners to flounder around looking for a vet to crop ears when the puppy is already often past the age where cropping is recommended (no later than 12 weeks) just burns me and is the sign of a bad breeder IMHO.

Cropping is an art that very few vets do .... and of those who will do cropping, very few do it well. I can honestly only think of a few off the top of my head and don't know any in Alabama. I think there are one or two in southern California, but as I am on the east coast, I don't remember their names.  This is why truly reputable breeders crop their entire litter before they send puppies to their new homes - and will keep them till stitches come out and ears are posted. They will help with posting ears or find someone close by the owner to help out.

we're looking at The American Pet Hospital in our area.  we've heard a few good things about this place.
