Adrian Animal Clinic in Michigan.  517-265-8975

1898 W Maumee, Adrian , MI 49221

I live in Ohio and I just got my puppy. I had an appointment in OH for the crop, but the surgeon was on vacation and got locked out of the state when the outbreak happened.

I've called a few more vets in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia.  Every place I called told me that they are only doing essential surgeries and they don't classify Cropping as such.  This MI vet told me they will do it, but they do have follow up visits for care and the pre-crop vet visit if you're up for all the driving.

Hope this info helps if you get a new puppy and everywhere is in lockdown like around me.

Hope they do a decent crop. So many don't.

Did you try Dr. Midgarden in Wapakoneta?  She crops for many of the show breeders and does a really good crop.

No, My first vet was Animal Clinic Northview and then I called East Columbus.

I was really just calling any place that I could find since this my pups 12 week mark and I was trying to get the app booked soon as I could before she gets older.

A few weeks in time here or there is nothing when the dog has good cartilage to begin with and actually wants to pick their ears up and work them every so often.

A Vet that knows what they are doing will want to 'evaluate' the ears (and you) before anything else and only then let you know their opinion as to what sort of crops will be more or less easy for the situation in hand.

They will not suggest or do a 'show crop' on a dog with inexperienced owners AND crappy cartilage...

Just as an FYI - most truly good croppers that crop for show breeders, do crops other than just a show crop.  I don't advise people to get a show crop on a puppy at 12 weeks of age.  A nicely shaped medium crop is good...... but soooo many vets that crop out there do really awful crops - I'd personally rather see natural ears than a bad crop.
