I just wanted to share an image of Fletch when he first arrived home after his procedure. I have since had to get an e-collar to keep him from scratching at his stitches. I hated to do it, but it is that or more sutures. He is pretty stubborn and will not leave the cup alone no matter what I try. My breeder suggested making a e-collar out of some cardboard as it is much more forgiving than the hard plastic one. I am going to try this as soon as I get a chance.

He is doing well though. I have since lost a lot of sleep (and almost my temper LOL) watching over him. I can't wait to get that cup and those sutures off of him and get my happy puppy back. I know he isn't happy.

The cuphead pics always make me laugh. Good luck with taping.

LOL---if you had used blue colored tape, he would have ended up looking like Marge Simpson.

At least he cant get to the stitches now.  DJ never used a cone or e collar when she had her stitches, but we were constantly holding her back foot down and keeping her from scratching. SO glad that's all over now.  Hang in there---stitches wont be there long, and then the posting begins!

My girlfriend thinks he looks like he is going to the spa.  It would be neat if you could choose your tape color.  That white gets gross pretty fast.

OK, just three more days for the top stiches to come out.  I love and hate his cone at this point.  He would have damaged his ears without it.  He is doing much better now.  The puppy inside him is coming back.

To me it looks like he has been topped with whipped cream now he just needs a little red pom pom on top, :))

Poor baby he does look sad......I found a neat thing instead of that old hard plastic collar there is a new thing - it's an inflatable collar - that allows for lots of adjustments for softness so if you have a dog that only goes after whatever it is a few times a day then less inflation is needed but if you have one that just won't stop full inflation is necessary, but it's soft and they can see that's the most important thing they can do everything but seeing is most important to them and when they bump into stuff it doesn't make things break and crash. I got mine at Drs.foster&smith or carealotpets and when you don't need it just deflate it and put it in a drawer for later and it's easily cleaned. Great and much better than cardboard too which is still hard and keeps vision down. Check it out and see what you think.....here's the link

A more comfortable alternative to Elizabethan Collar for dogs * Protect your dog post-surgery, from licking wounds, or from excessive biting & scratching * Durable, washable, and comfortable

Help stop your pet from biting and scratching due to allergies, wounds, stitches, or post-surgery. A great, veterinarian-recommended alternative to a traditional Elizabethan or "cone" collar. Inflates easily, then thread pet's collar through loops and fit around neck with self-fastener attachment. Extra-durable zippered PVC covers plastic inflatable liner. Can be used over and over. Comfortable and convenient. Always monitor a pet post surgery to ensure collar is working properly. Recommended by veterinarians.

Hey kudos to me!!! I was able to cut/paste right in here imagine that.......bet I can't do it twice in a row. hahahahaha
