As most of you know that I am planning to adopt/rescue a 6 yr old red female dobie. I just cant hardly wait.. she has a great temperment etc.. but some jerk cut her ears themself.. they look like short pit bull ears.. I have seen this done over and over.. What are they thinking.. poor dogs looks llke they use sissors. Poor Missy doesnt know the difference.. she is a swee affectionate dobe..

Character yes. My sil had a male dobe that was rescued from second or third owner.. his original owner did the same to him.. his name was Issac.. he was a great dobe .. a clown and gooffy but a good watch dog and protector..

I emailed Dana and asked her how Missy was.. she said she was fine I said giver her a pet for me.
Dalna said she was out in the yard when she came in she would get an extra cookie and tell her it is from me lol.

we have a Doberman male hopefully going into rescue soon that the awful backyard breeder owners chopped his off recently at 2 years old! The more I hear these stories the more I hate the people that do these kind of things and have developed a no tolerance for backyard breeders period.
OMG, what is wrong with people?? Glad he is going into rescue, poor baby to have such horrendous things done to him, stupid people
that is so sad.. why would any breeder do something like that at the age of 2. don't they know that that is done as a puppy for a reason.. if it cant be done right leave the ears.. Well I guess I am preaching to the choir.

I HATE human beings... makes me wish I lived on a planet without the so-called "master race". Human beings in general are disgusting indeviduals... with exception to the wonderful people here and those other truly wonderful people out there.

Yep working in rescue makes one wish that people didn't exist, and yes I know that includes me. I just feel so bad for all the animals that suffer at human hands.......breaks my heart....

This kind of behavoir is sick and inhuman... Anyone that would do that to an animal has something seriously wrong with them.. :o(

Its not just on DOBES!! my father in- law did his min. schnauzers ears..... OMG. They look horrible. but you cant tell him that!! " they look just like a professional did it". they did however take her to the vets office and sedated her and did it with the help of the vet tech (good friend of the family....) but OMG! then to get them to stand they super glued the ends together... they were so short that you could see the skin being pulled under her chin!!! I voiced my opinion but lets just say it fell on deaf ears.
Shame on the vet tech who helped him. And then call himself a Vet tech? One who probably took some kind of oath to help and protect animals similar to the oath a M.D. Would swear to. Hard to do something when it involves family, I know. But the vet tech needed to be reported. This tech probably still does this type of thing on the sly. I assume this person works for a qualified vet, and did this without their knowledge. I feel nauseated just thinking about it even though the animal was sedated. Why not get the real vet to do it? Money?
reminds me of one of our local paramedics in the Ambulance who regularly ignored the real M.D. On the radio and would brag to co workers he knew more than any of the local M.D.'s in the area. Until he killed someone! Then he killed himself in shame and in the middle of a trial. life was lost for foolishness & the poor victim was lost because of the idiot's uneducated or under educated foolish pride.
I am sorry this happened with a family member. You must have felt between a rock & a hard place. If you find out this TECH is still at it, please find out if there is a way to discreetly report him before this involves an untimely death of an innocent animal or this person tries to involve your family member into a crime again.
I hope I worded this properly. I did not intend to make you feel bad. I don't know all the circumstances involved. But if felt anger that this tech is doing something he is not qualified to do and involving your in law in a criminal activity. My vet took extra classes to learn about about proper procedures of ear cropping. I am sure this is not offered to "tech's"

I was wondering if it was in the Vet's office did they try to use the laser? Or did they use the scissors while in the Vets office? If they did that, that soooo wrong. People take their animals there, to be cared for. And the Vet tech is using the facility to pretty much abuse an animal. That makes me upset. =/ What the ......

There is a rescue dobergirl on LA craigslist that her poor ears are just chopped off horizontal, looks like they are floppy and flipped to the back, just all gone... just cant forget, so po'd

Bet - CONGRATS on a finding a dobbie who deserves a wonderful home! I can't even begin to think what this dog went through ... cutting ears without surgery...OMG. She has character ... physically, mentally and spirtually. BTW - I worked at maricopa county animal care and control under a different rescue org and saw many pits come in with the same awful conditions. A lot of humans suck.
