Rottenness, pure evil.
Paisley, my wonderful doberdevil, did something hilarious the other day and I decided to share...
Well, lets just say she enjoys shredding the cat bed. When I'm not paying attention, off she zooms for the bathroom where the bed resides and the I catch her with it in her mouth in the living room shakeing it like a live animal...
Well, since this wasn't a "new" problem I grabbed a bottle of that spray that makes things taste terrible, it wasn't bitter apple, but something like that. It smells like that stuff the doctor makes you gargle with when you have strep throat.
Anyway, I soaked the cat bed in the stuff. I didn't care if Maple, our kitty, ever slept in it again but Paisley wasn't going to chomp down on it anymore (I hoped).
So I watch stealthily as Paisers sneaks into the bathroom and takes the not-so-flavorful cat bed in her mouth. Upon tasting it, she makes the biggest scene of her life. She screams, and cries, and rubs her head on the ground like she was just squired by a skunk. For about five minutes she carries on like this. Throwing the biggest temper tantrum I have ever seen. It made me wonder if the stuff burned her mouth.
Well, about the time I was going to check and make sure that everthing was allright, she sits up. Just like a two-year old would raise themselves up sideways and wipe the tears from their eyes. She pushes herself up on her two front legs and quietly stares at the cat bed for a few seconds, as if sizing it up.
Thats where all hell breaks loose.... She goes from docile pondering, to utter terrorist. Grabbing the cat bed in her mouth, she tears into the bottem of it and rips out three giant chunks before I can 'rescue' it.
Needless to say, the spray didn't exactly work as planned...
1 pt Doberman
-3 pts cat bed
What can ya do? Lol.
OMG too funny!! Fancy's in a particually funny mood tonite, I'm just hoping I can fend off the impending dragons before she does!
I LOVED this story... don't know if you've seen this video of Steve or not: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lil0tp1mx0 -- ( please ignore music, I don't know what Pandora was playing that day lol ) he constantly tried to "kill" this bed until I got him a big giant stuffed dog...

I got it at Petsmart, maybe you can find Paisley one?! And even though he liked to eat his bed.. just like his Bear.. he loves to sleep in it still:

Isn't it amazing how dramatic they can be? I always bust up laughing after I've cleaned Steve's ears... you'd think the cleanser is the meanest thing on earth (it's not, totally hypoallergenic stuff from the vet), he dashes around the house, throws himself on the ground and rubs and rubs and rubs...
Jess.. of course he's trying to kill it.. there was a PINK blanket in it..any self respecting Doberdude named Steve would be incensed ( and rightfully so)
Seriously.. I had to watch it twice.. the first time I was laughing too hard..
Great pics as well.. LOVE him curled up like a cocktail shrimp in his bed, with MANLY weights behind him no pink blankie..
great job.. thanks
That was adorable cisco used to drag his bed from one corner to the other shaking it violently- he would squish it into a ball and hump it.... Mind you this bed was my akitas so it was huge and to see a 9 week old pup drag this thing andd hump it was hysterical- i will have to learn how to transfer vid from my phone and post it for you all...
They are all so quirky and dare i say rotten....
Right now there are about 10 of there toys on the floor- they want my fossil tosselcap and daddies tempurpedic slippers.... and they keep counter surfing looking for other stuff that isnt theirs!
BOL!!!! Oh I love the story and these pics of Steve, too cute!!!! He does look like a huge cocktail shrimp! We have finally decided on the name for our new baby girl.... SOPHIE. She looks like a Sophie, and we are going to visit her tomorrow. I'll be sure to have pics, so glad I found y'all.
LOL. Oh, Paisley, you little doberdemon XD That made me laugh, the image of Paisley screaming and yelping before obliterating the catbed (maybe with a small mushroom cloud after Paisley pushed the destruction button....). Too funny ♥♥♥
Paisley ... tears rolling... Oh, that's a scream! Do you ever get the feeling we're not winning?
Everyday I have that feeling!!!!
It's hard to stay ahead of these guys - somedays I'm lucky to stay even with them!!!
Well, I'm starting to think that letting Skye on the furniture was a bad idea. We can push her off, don't get me wrong, but she refuses to believe that it's not her bed. This morning she drug her dog bed up onto my fave chair, and slept. When I moved her and sat down, she just waited until i moved again and drug her bed back up!!! Grrrrrr. My chair! lolz
You guys are cracking me up! Sorry I'm just responding, it's been an insane week and internet just hasn't made it onto my agenda. By the time it did, it wasn't working... haha.
Jes, you cracked me up...agreed about the cocktail shrimp pic.
I have pictures of Paisley curled up in the cat bed (that she obliterated) too. Wonder why they squish themselves into things...
ETA: love the mushroom clowd comment. I swear I was certain she would never touch that bed again after the scene she made...I was very. VERY. wrong. hahaha.
oh Paisley, I can almost see you now....haha great story and visual....:)
Does anyone see the irony of this. Here we have a group of human adults, educated and intelligent all being defeated by puppies! I include myself in that as Princess was certainly six steps ahead of me until she slowed down when she a a little over a year.
Fortunately for us, when they become adults, they will slow down - a bit. Red still manages to wrap me around his paw occasionally. And Princess, at the age of 2 years and 4 months still eats her pad - the one in the crate, but not the one in the living room. To the point I have surrendered.
No more pads in her crate. Just about a half dozen towels she can arrange any way she wants. They have a few holes, but apparently are tougher to tear up, for she has not damaged them very much. (And they are easier to wash.)
I too have given up on the pads in ciscos he has two old blankets in there or an old comforter on wash days... Raven also just has a few blankets and towels also....
I frequently feel like I'm being defeated by Paisley...haha. We started agility this week. I'm not doing it for competition, more just for the fun/training of it. But it was sooo much fun. I know Paisley enjoyed it too. And even better, I got to chat with a girl who just went to a clicker training school. I picked her brain apart. She showed me some tips on loose lead walking that I didn't know, and told me she was AMAZED at how obedient Paisley was. =) I couldn't have been happier. Even though I felt like Paizers was all over the place, it pays to work hard!
I'm wondering how having an audience, one that is participating on the same skills, will affect Leo's performance in obedience and agility classes. What will the Doberman psychology bring into play?
barb- Cisco at home is the most well trained pup- we get to puppy class w/ the other dogs and his dober-devil comes out.. I think he wants to show all the other pups he is the alpha... He will listen and do what he is told for the most part- but than something clicks and he turns into a raging lunatic...
Does Cisco act up toward the end of the class? Fancy got to class so excited and a little off the hook, then she'd settle down and be great, then about the last 10-15 minutes of the hour long class she'd start to not listen as well. I think she just got so bored, even tho I tried to mix it up for her.
His is when we are learning down (as in lay down) so yeah it is usually at the end of class- Mr garrow seems to think that it is a combination of tired bored puppy mixed with Alpha stuff... He works great for him and my hubby - but for me or his assistant Tyler we get some devil there at the end stages of class
I just have a feeling Leo's going to be a real show off He's just such a laid back personality that I'm expecting a little firecracker action. Just mommy nerves? Ha!
