I realize you have a different situation over there, but is it not possible to go to the breeder? Over here we really don't think too much of the pet stores as they don't have the best quality dogs of any breed.

Bringing in a new puppy should not be too much of a problem. You will have to watch Dobey though as he will be bigger than the new puppy and of course he will want to play but not realize his strength.

Yup, K. You're absolutely right. Sofia has one gal pal she will play with. It looks fierce, but never any growling. They roll around and tackle each other, race around the yard and just have so much fun. Sofia had, as you say K. 'enough' one day, and came in the house and claimed her spot on the sofa.. Maya followed her in. Sofia just looked at her.. it was just a look, I promise. Maya turned tail and beat it outside in record time. I was watching closly as I was wondering about keeping Maya for a weekend or overnight.. ain't gunna happen my friend. as long as it's on her terms, Sofia will gracioulsy accept other dogs into her yard, on her walks, etc.. but it IS her house..Might be because when ever we leave her for a bit, we'll always say. " Watch the house Sofia, don't let anyone in!" She takes her job serioulsy.
