Dobe$: 4

Hi I just got an eight month old spayed dobe who was never crate trained. Is it too late to start now?

Its never to late and very recommended that you try. You may have a more difficult time with it seeing the dog you are starting is 8mo old. Has she ever been in a crate before? Here is a article to maybe give you a few ideas to start with You will have to let us know what you have tried and keep us updated how it is going. http://www.dpca.org/BreedEd/crating_your_dog.htm

I agree with you and it is an excellent article. With multiple dogs in the house, it is a way to maintain sanity. With a 4 month old female Dobe with high energy levels and a 6 year old male who has discovered his inner puppy. They get to playing too roughly, the crates offer the time of quiet separation all three of us need.

Red, my 6 year old male having been crated since a puppy, goes in on his own and goes to sleep even when the door is open. Princess is not yet accustomed totally to hers yet, but she is getting better. Of course as an energetic puppy she wants to be out and into everything. With the warm weather they now get to spend a good amount of time outside together.
